We can offer 120 guests for a civil ceremony in our magnificent Great Hall and up to 160 guests for a wedding reception in the Great Conservatory.
The Great Hall – 120 guests
The State Dining Room – 50 guests
The Great Conservatory – 120 guests (evening ceremonies only)
You will have exclusive use of the principal floor of Syon House and the Great Conservatory on the times stated on your contract.
You are tied to using our approved caterers, décor, and production companies for your event. You are welcome to use your own Photographer, Videographer, DJ, Band etc
A full list of our suppliers can be found here.
Absolutely – please do contact your event manager to book in a convenient time.
The local registrars Hounslow borough will take a booking for your civil ceremony 1 year in advance.
Yes – we love a live band. The Great Conservatory has a sound limiter that is set at 95 dbs.
The venue is best suited to bands of 5 or 6 pieces.
Your chosen entertainment can have access to set-up from 2pm on the day – and we ask that they are ready, sound-checked etc by 5pm.
This should give them ample time to practice with the limiter so they can play without hindrance for the party!
Led candles can be used in Syon House and real candles can be used in the Great Conservatory.
There is not a sound system in the Great Hall – one of our production companies would be more than happy to assist with putting in a sound system for you.
We do not allow confetti anywhere on the estate. Dried Lavender is a wonderful alternative and can be used in the inner Courtyard. Bubbles can also be lovely.
Absolutely – they make a beautiful addition for photos in any of our outside spaces. We do not allow them inside Syon House or the Great Conservatory.
Suppliers can have access to set up from 1pm in the Great Hall and then from 2pm to the Great Conservatory.
We ask that the couple are onsite 45 minutes to an hour before ceremony time. Your registrar will want to meet with you both separately on arrival for your interviews, as well as meet key people like your guests that are reading or have possession of the all-important rings!
We suggest that guests arrive half an hour before your ceremony starts. If your ceremony time is at 3.30pm this means that we will aim to have you walking down the aisle at 3.30pm.
There is plenty of parking in the main car park of Syon Park.
We can offer a 3.30pm or a 4pm civil ceremony at Syon House. For evening ceremonies at the Great Conservatory, we suggest a 6.00pm or 6.30pm ceremony time. This is subject to registrar availability.
Absolutely – guests can arrive to us after your ceremony and head straight into our Inner Courtyard for your drink’s reception? In wet weather the Colonnade, overlooking the tidal water meadow is beautiful for your drink’s reception.
Absolutely – red buses can drive through the front gate and bring your guests right up to the front of Syon house.
Yes of course – they are very welcome. Some couples choose to hire a creche service or an entertainer for them but this is a personal choice and is not something that you need. Do ask us for more information and recommendations on creches.
You are welcome to invite additional guests in the evening – bringing the total number of guests to 200. We recommend removing several tables after dinner to allow for more space.
The Great Conservatory does not have heating or air conditioning. We recommend heating for April/May and October weddings, but speak to our events team about specific times of the year. With air conditioning due to the height of the dome and the number of units needed it is not something that works within the Conservatory. We have a couple of standing fans that we can put into main dome to keep the air moving and open the windows
Your music and bar service finishes at midnight – there is a 20-minute drinking up period and we ask that all guests are clear of the Great Conservatory by 12.30am. We do not offer extensions unfortunately.
Fireworks are not permitted on the estate; Sparklers are a great alternative and make an amazing exit for the couple.
